Our decimal unit is very short, therefore our unit test will be THIS TUESDAY. Students will have to use the following skills on the test:
- Decimal Place Value (tenths and hundredths)
- Write fractions as a decimal and vice versa (tenths and hundredths, including mixed numbers--ex: 3 2/10 = 3.2)
- Compare decimals using models (tenths and hundredths--ex: 0.3 > 0.03)
- Add fractions/decimals with unlike denominators using models (tenths and hundredths only--ex: 0.3 + 0.03 = 0.33)
Students will also see a few review problems from the following previous units of study:Fractions (finding equivalencies, improper fractions and mixed numbers, fractions on a number line, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators)
It is imperative that your child complete his/her homework Monday night to help them prepare for Tuesday's test. I am attaching the Decimal Study Guide below just in case your child has misplaced his/her copy. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel fee to contact me!
